Navy Exceptional Family Member Program

Program Description

The Navy's Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) is a quality of life program that supports Sailors who have dependents with chronic conditions that require special care and services. Through EMFP, a Sailor's family needs can be considered during the assignment process. Some families may also be eligible for benefits such as priority housing or additional insurance. The program also provides Case Liaisons to help families connect with local services and support.

Services

  • Case Liaison Services: Information and referrals to local services, resources, and support groups. Assistance during Permanent Change of Station moves.

Eligibility

  • Active duty Navy families, in which a family member has chronic medical, dental, mental health, developmental, or educational conditions that require special care and services.
