Navy School Liaison Officer

Program Description

The Navy School Liaison Officer is a critical link between military installations, local school administrators, parents and the community at-large. The SLO tries ensure that military children are given every opportunity to succeed.

For parents, the SLO can help address school issues and military lifestyle concerns, including school transfers and deployment stresses. The SLO trains parents to be informed educational advocates for their children.

For the installation commander, the SLO serves as education expert and advisor. The SLO fosters a responsive, cooperative relationship between school representatives and the military community.
