Program Description

The RI Military Family Relief Fund provides financial assistance for combat-wounded and recently deployed RI National Guard and Reserve members.


  • Up to $2500.


  • Casualty grants: Combat-wounded RI National Guard or Reserve member or their immediate family.
  • Needs-based grants: Active RI National Guard or Reserve member who is currently deployed, is scheduled to deploy, or has deployed within the last two years or their immediate family. Emergency financial need as a result of being deployed. Member's grade is not higher than Officer-3 or Warrant Officer-3.

How To Apply

  • Download an application. Apply via unit channels, Family Readiness Office, or the Family Assistance Center.


  • For needs-based grants, applicants may be required to provide verifiable proof of the need and other supporting documents.
  • Military ID Card.
  • Leave and Earnings Statement and any proof of other family income.
  • Substantiating documents (e.g., car repair estimate, rental agreement, utility bill, etc.).
