Sail To Prevail Disabled Veterans Program

Program Description

The mission of this program is to enable disabled veterans to experience sailing in Newport, RI, through Sail To Prevail – The National Disabled Sailing Program. The program will teach the fundamentals of sailing and provide for hands-on participation on sailboats designed specifically for the disabled.

Services

  • Annual sailing event, in conjunction with the Providence VA Medical Center, for veterans with spinal cord injuries.
  • Veteran-specific clinic days for introductory sailing. Fees apply.
  • Group lessons and recreational sailing through the general Sail To Prevail program. Fees apply.

Eligibility

  • Disabled veterans. A family member or significant other is welcome at the veteran clinics.
