USERRA Education and Conflict Resolution

Program Description

The Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA) is a federal law that establishes rights and responsibilities for uniformed service members and their civilian employers. It defines reemployment rights for members returning from service and prevents discrimination based on military service.

  • ESGR helps educate both service members and employers about their rights and responsibilities under USERRA.
  • ESGR can assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee's military commitment.
  • When issues do arise, ESGR volunteers can act as mediators and ombudsmen to educate and resolve disputes at lowest organizational level possible.

  • Details of employment and reemployment protections can be found here.
